How your flight works

Meeting point
We meet at the agreed spot: at the Lienz cable cars, at the Touch Heaven landing field or at the Bruno Girstmair flight school. Plan a relaxed 1.5 to 2 hours for the whole experience.

Ride up Zettersfeld
The gondola and chairlift take you up to the Steinermandl launch at Zettersfeld at 2,220 m. You need a ticket for 2 sections (adults €24.50, youth/child €18.00, small children free).

Ride up Hochstein
We reach the Hochstein launch by taxi; the passenger pays for their own seat and the pilot's. Alternatively, privately in your own car plus a companion who drives it back down to the valley.

Briefing at the launch
At the launch you get a short, clear briefing, without rush or time pressure. Your pilot explains exactly what to do at take-off, in flight and on landing.

Take-off
For a safe take-off we need a little wind from the front. You stand in front of the pilot and run briskly along until the wing is cleanly above you. Only sit down on the pilot's command, until then simply keep running.

Flight
Depending on the package and conditions, the flight lasts about 25 to 45 minutes. You glide silently over the Airpark Lienzer Dolomiten, calm and relaxed or a bit more sporty, just as you like.

Weather
If the weather does not allow a safe flight, we drive back down to the valley. Costs for the cable car or taxi cannot be refunded in that case. Normally, though, we assess the conditions so that this is not necessary.

Landing
Landing is very easy. Just before, your pilot gives you a clear command, you stretch both feet forward, and we land gently on the foam protector of the harness.

After the flight
At the landing field we look at the photos and videos from your video package together. Afterwards you are welcome to stay and enjoy the flying life.

Payment
We prefer cash, but also offer instant bank transfer, PayPal and card. You pay right after the flight to the pilot you flew with.

Important to close
Excitement before the flight is normal, but fear is not necessary. Your pilot does this with a lot of experience almost every day and guides you calmly and safely through the whole process.
What to bring
Please dress for the weather and bring the following to the meeting point.
- Weatherproof clothing, long trousers, warm jacket
- Sturdy ankle-high shoes (hiking or solid sports shoes) – required
- Gloves – we provide them on site, feel free to bring your own
- Sunglasses (well-fitting) – recommended
- Sunscreen – recommended
- No loose jewellery, no open bags
- Cash for the gondola and for payment after the flight
