Parking & meeting point at Zettersfeld

Depending on the arrangement, we meet at the Touch Heaven landing field, at the Bruno Girstmair flight school, but most often directly at the ticket office of the Lienzer Bergbahnen at the Zettersfeld gondola base station in Gaimberg, or at an agreed meeting point. Parking is free everywhere.

Lienzer Bergbahnen ticket office (Gaimberg): Our most common meeting point – right at the Zettersfeld gondola base station. Large, free car park in front of the cable car. From here we ride the gondola together to the launch site.

“Touch Heaven” landing field: Our landing field in the Lienz valley – this is where you land after the flight. Also used as a meeting point, e.g. for Hochstein flights.

Bruno Girstmair flight school: Meeting point at the flight school, depending on the flying area and arrangement. Free parking nearby.

How to recognise us & what happens on arrival

You’ll spot us by our colourful harnesses and the KOFLY logo. After booking, we’ll send you a WhatsApp message with the exact meeting point, a Google Maps link and the time. On site, we explain everything – from putting on the harness to take-off. It takes about 10 minutes and is completely stress-free.

Scheduling & weather check

Paragliding is weather-dependent. Here’s how scheduling works with us:

Request: Contact us with your preferred date – via WhatsApp, phone or booking form.

Weather briefing: The evening before, between 6:00 and 7:00 pm, we’ll give you a personal assessment of whether the flight can go ahead.

Flexibility: If we need to reschedule, it’s always free of charge – no risk, no stress.

We recommend scheduling your tandem flight as early in your holiday as possible. That way you have a buffer day if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Current weather and a live webcam of Zettersfeld can be found on the Lienzer Bergbahnen website.

Where to stay nearby

If you’d like to combine your tandem flight with a short break, you’ll find plenty of accommodation nearby. Here are three tips for different budgets:

Gaimberg & Nußdorf-Debant

Right at the foot of Zettersfeld – ideal if you want just a 5-minute drive to the meeting point. Guest houses and holiday apartments with mountain views, often with breakfast.

Lienz Old Town

Hotels and inns right in the Lienz old town – perfect for couples and families who want to explore the Dolomite town after the flight. Restaurants, cafés and shops on your doorstep.

Farm stays & nature

East Tyrol is famous for its farm-stay holidays. Ideal for families with children: feed animals in the morning, tandem flight in the afternoon. Many farms in Assling, Leisach or Amlach – 10 to 15 minutes to Zettersfeld.
